Ohanahan Street is an area with nostalgic atmosphere out of the Edo (1603-1868) and Meiji (1868-1912) periods and named after the filming of Ohanahan, an NHKTV drama series. There is an Ohanahan rest area almost in the middle of the street which displays materials related to Ohanahan.

It is a very beautiful castle town with an irrigation canal and a quaint tourist spot. Carp were swimming in the irrigation canal. The street is short, about 100m, but I was able to enjoy it quite a bit.

Due to rain, I changed my planned sightseeing spot and visited here. The rainy atmosphere was very atmospheric and the results were great! Nearby Machi-no-Eki will lend you Japanese umbrellas for free!

I visited you on a bicycle pilgrimage. The name comes from the location where the NHK morning TV drama "Ohanahan" was filmed in 1966. The town layout and rows of houses from the Edo period have been faithfully preserved, allowing you to get a glimpse of the lives of common people at the time. The row of storehouses on the north side belonged to merchants, and on the south side were samurai residences. It is also the street where "Tokyo Love Story" was filmed.

It's a very atmospheric townscape, and you can enjoy it just by parking your car at the nearby roadside station and walking around. There are many attractive shops lined up in the city, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is a city where you can really spend the whole day having fun. Although not shown in the photo, there are also carp swimming in the irrigation canal.
