Asakusabashi is located on the southernmost side of the Otaru Canal, where the Bank of Japan Street and the canal intersect . There is a plaza on the bridge, which is a popular photo spot crowded with many tourists.

浅草橋

I visited again after 25 years, and the scenery became even more charming with the addition of white snow.

From this bridge you can have nice view over the whole bog length of the canal. Good spot to take picture.

I stopped by at the end of the year. The recommended time is definitely winter night when there is less crowd. It is truly beautiful with the lights reflecting on the canal.

Otaru Canal is very photogenic at night because of lighting and still water.
