Simple design but elegant villa by lake. Scenic view of lake and mountains is beautiful.

Very different design from the Italian villa, with a brighter aesthetic. The view is nice, but unlike the Italian Embassy villa you can't see Mount Nantai.

300 yen for each and 450 for both Italian and British embassy.. the restroom in British embassy is better if you happen to need a restroom there. It’s not car accessible. I mean it probably is but there is no parking space available. You are safe if you take a bus there or walk from the temple or cruising boat parking. British embassy is bright and comfortable to sit and enjoy the scenery. The Italian one which located only 3 minutes walk is quite chilly. Exhibition is quite interesting. We didn’t try anything from the tearoom upstairs though.

Loved the simple yet elegant design of the villa, incontrast to the extravagant Italian villa. Buy exhibition ticket, head up to the second floor and treat yourself to serene view of Lake Chuzenji, just like British diplomats had been doing decades ago.

Beautiful scenery of the lake and autumn leaves. The area is like Lake District in UK, hence understandable on selected location for an embassy. Very enjoyable area and good trail walks by the lake.
