Immigration was smooth and quick. Very efficient. Airport is very small and there are scaffolding inside due to some renovation. Bus tickets to Yufuin and other places can be bought after exiting or take the bus to domestic airport/subway station.
Major renovation outside the airport too.
The newly opened area for the international departure terminal is well decorated with the modern Japanese style architecture.
Wooden tables and chairs make me feel like I'm not at the airport.
Nice clean airport. Well condensed. Decent walkways concentration, could definitely use more. Not too big to be annoying. Connected to the rest of the public transport around the city. Two bus stops just outside the airport. Very convenient and centralized.
They have pretty much everything shops and restaurants and never get tired of looking around. The international and domestic are still separated and need to hop on the free bus to come and go. It would be better if there was a roof at the observation deck as no one could go outside because of rain.
When I arrived, I was impressed because my luggage was already neatly arranged 🙌🏻 never doubt the Japanese!
I think most hotels around here provides shuttle bus and I took that too. But it just dropped me at the domestic area. I need to change shuttle bus to the international area.
In the international terminal, they already use machine so we don’t need to stamp our passport anymore.
In the waiting room, there was a staff (maybe from the airport or goverment, I don’t know), she asked me some questionnaire and she gave me a Japanese erases as a gift. Thankyou!
