Since this was close to Ohori and the playground by the Boathouse restaurant, we decided to explore the ruins. A few weeks too early for cherry blossom season, so the castle area was bare. We saw one tree that was starting to bloom though. Unfortunately the castle is under renovation so it was covered by scaffolding. We need to go back with the sakura flooding the area, and without the scaffolding. Simple enough area to explore, even with a stroller. No lines, free - it’s an underrated area for tourists.

It is a pity that it is closed for construction till June 2924. However the top view over the city is still amazing.

The only ruins in this castle are the view, by giant purple cranes. They claim this place was supposedly built in like 757 but the Toyota g4 250 crevo crane shown in the photo is only 20 years old.

I disagree with calling this ruins; seems like the castle is under restoration or construction, but the park and walls were beautiful. Some of the cherry blossoms had started to bloom, but it was very dead still from the winter. I love dead trees, so we still enjoyed the park. But I’m sure it’s much more beautiful in the spring. There were lots of locals exercising and playing sports in the park!

Not much to see here, especially during the winter when there are no leaves now. Castle still under construction. Suggest come spring or autumn where there are cherry blossoms or maple leaves. Free to explore on your own and can see the cityscape at the peak.
