Outdated display rooms. You can almost smell the 'age' of the building. Not a popular spot to visit if you're just walking down the samurai houses. Some may find the architecture worth SNS photos.

I am usually not a fan of museums; I almost passed by it but decided to walk inside because it was cold outside. The 300 yen (about $3) was a nominal entrance fee to warm up inside. As I started to walk around I noticed the visual paintings on display from various artists of 1800s and 1900s era. It was a very pleasant way of learning about the history and culture of Japan. My favorite painting was the one titled "Akita's old city" from 1899.

Very interesting architectural style to the building. A must see. Exhibits were mostly paintings done by local artists from various periods.
