Within 20mins walk from Niigata station , this place won’t let you down . It’s an open factory for sake making , providing free but insightful and detailed tour (English version only at 2:00 pm) for a better knowing sake making. You can savor different kinds of sakes by only paying 1000yen(actually I forgot how much you have to pay 😅) Of course , there are many different kinds of sakes with different quality . It’s hard to make up your mind which one you should take away with you. I also tried the ice cream made with sake (with alcohol less than 0.5%) ….. hard to tell the taste of it . Anyway it tastes really special and yummy.😋

Arrived just before they closed so wasn't able to experience the tour, but staff were very welcoming and the 1000 yen sake tasting course is certainly worth it as you get to try around 15 different bottles, including their award winning bottles which are normally rare / expensive.

Nice little sake brewery with a good English tour. Paid the extra 1000 yen to get (14) different sake samples which was well worth it. Highly recommended to others. English tour you need to reserve ahead of time but I didn't have any issues booking fairly last minute

If you wish to join the English you will need to book in advance as there's no walk in availability and only at 2pm. I joined the Japanese tour as I didn't know I had to book the English in advance. You get an English pamphlet that explains the procedures as you tour the brewery. However as the guide and members were all Japanese when questions were asked and elaborated on you do lose all the valuable information that's being disseminated. Also there's a sake tasting course at the end of the tour. Make sure to top up for the premium ones as you'll be able to try out their award winning sakes.

I don't speak much Japanese and we arrived around 11:05-11:10am but we were still able to join the Japanese tour. You can grab an English pamphlet from the shelf before going on the tour so it's not necessary to join the English tour (only at 2pm each day). I tried two types of sake and the deep sea non-alcoholic rice wine (amazake) for free. The amazake tasted a little fishy, so I guess that's why they call it a deep sea one. They sold out of some of the sake items and only had the sake bread ice cream product left. I thought it was okay. I wish that they had the soft serve because I wanted to try that one. They also have some sake that are exclusive to the store, so they would be good as presents. I would definitely come back if I'm in the area.
