Visited during Pokemon exhibition. Very nostalgic and fun if you're interested in Pokemon.

It's an amazing museum with some real quality pieces. The museum guides you through the almost complete history of the Iwate prefecture. There is a carpark just In front of the museum which is good for elderly or small children.

High quality displays set in beautiful park area with great views of mt. Iwate. Taxis is the best way to get there about 15km from centre of city

Great museum. Far from any train station but still worth the visit if you like museums. Big collection with many varying themes. Lots of English! You can spend a long time here if you want

This is a great museum. It is an older building be quite large. It has historical, science, animal, and cultural, and folk areas. You could easily spend hours here learning. There not not many interface exhibits. Smaller children may be bored.
