I see, A story full of compassion and the origin of Mt. Kudo. According to the precepts of the time, yes. Encountering a national treasure can be a challenge. Last time was in 2015, so next time... I still think it's okay. In addition, Buddha statues with various names are enshrined here. Ema is also a temple for women that is a little different. Let's worship together with Muroji Temple.

It is the gateway to visiting Mt. Koya. The Tsukiji wall at the north gate seems to have remained since the 1400s. There was a friendly cat on the grounds. It reminds me of the president (cat) who used to live in a university club building.

Great temple with quite important significance. This temple is the beginning point of the Choishimichi pilgrimage trail to Koyasan. The temple itself is dedicated to women and their health, as women were not allowed into Koyasan until the 1800s. It was dedicated by Kobodaishi to his mother, who could not enter the town. The hike itself is about 8 hours at a leisurely pace. First 2 hours are quite steep but the rest is quite nice. You can find frogs, mountain crabs, and snakes if you pay attention to the sides of the trail. Don't forget to bring water.

An interesting temple which also marks the beginning of the Koyasan Choishi-michi pilgrimage trail which winds up through the forested hills to the very heart of Koyasan.
