This is Temple no 14 of the Shikoku Pilgrimage route. When we went there , there were only a few trees with autumn leaves. Significant features are the triple gated main temple building , the Kannon temple building and a wooden statue of a seated Kannon deity. This is the oldest temple in Tokushima Perfecture.

I went there because there was a special opening. Although it was still early for the autumn leaves, it was a magnificent Soto sect temple. It's very quiet and I think it's nice to be able to relax more than the crowded places in Kyoto.

Hard to find and gets few visitors but worthwhile, though likely closed most of the time. You have to peek through holes in the door to see inside.

Quiet with a small hill to walk up.
