Kaisei Shrine was founded in 1876 by Nakajima Masatan, a nobleman from the Misawa Domain. which was the leader in pioneering the Ansaku area This is the former area of today's Goriyama City. Nakajima Masatan wanted to create a place that pioneers could use as a spiritual refuge. Therefore this shrine was founded. This shrine enshrines the spirit of Tenshodaigumiko or the sun which is the highest deity in Japanese mythology. For this reason, this shrine is also known as "Oisesama of Tohoku" or "Oisesama of the Northeast" The shrine is now more than 150 years old and remains an important place for the people of Goriyama.

About 41 years ago, as a first-year working adult, I came to this shrine for my New Year's visit. At that time, people were heading to the shrine one by one, so I didn't know what kind of shrine it was before I visited. This time, when I looked it up on the internet, it said that it was Mr. Oise from Tohoku (Michinoku). It is said to have branched off from Ise Jingu during the Meiji period. That's why I understood that it was such a wonderful shrine.

23/09/04 It happened to be raining heavily when I went there, so it was not very convenient. But the whole shrine is very neat, I don’t know how to describe it. But I felt very comfortable and peaceful when I was inside the shrine. It's a pity that the red seal was not written in the book.

Nice small temple in the heart of the city. Lucky us that the Sakura inside is still blooming 😊😊
