We got there after four and it was not crowded. We were able to see all the facility, Castle and palace.

A famous spot just a short walk from Kakegawa Station. The view from the rebuilt castle tower is a must-see. A famous castle completed by Kazutoyo. There are cherry blossom trees along the nearby stream, and I would like to visit again in the spring.

Steep steps...but worth the climb... The Gotens palace adjacent to the castle is awesome...

Calm and serene place. Unfortunately, could not enter inside the castle main building, however the precincts were picturesque and well maintained. The adjoining flower garden was in full bloom. There is a paid parking very close to the location. A 1-2 hour visit-worthy place.

Small but very beautiful castle. You can view the entire Kakegawa from the castle keep. On a clear day you can have a glimpse of Mt Fuji. Highly recommended for visiting the castle since its just a few blocks from the station.
