Lovely shrine out of the city. I was too early to see the blossoms in bloom. There are quite a few steps to the top but easily manageable.

This is a very interesting shrine. Lanterns lined the path to the top. The atmosphere was very good. We went just before the new year, and there were many people making preparations for the first shrine visit of the new year. There was plenty of parking and bathrooms available.

A Good sort of getaway from the crowd of the city. The shrine is magnificent in both atmosphere and architecture. The fact that they constantly played traditional japanese instruments ( i assume ), help you immerse yourself more. The nature surrounding the shrine also boosted the beauty of the shrine. The shrine is quite huge, so prepare to explore and walk (also hike) alot. In summer around July you can see peonies blooming. The peony garden it self span quite wide and absolutely pretty with a long and quite steep staircases that got surrounded on both side by the peonies. Theres also another garden close by from the shrine that can be either accessed from the main car lot of the shrine. Also the shrine in built on a hill so prepare to hike. The shrine is just 3 train stop from okayama station so quite close but you need to walk for about 10-15 minutes from the kibitsu station. The price to enter is free

Superb. The best shrine so far that I have seen on okayama. It will take an hour if you like taking pictures. Peonie garden was lovely, love peonies. But it seems going off-season now (mid April)

When I arrived there during winter, it's very cold. It is a quiet place. You can take many photos with different scenes. You can go there by bicycle or train from Okayama. It is also good to visit there during autumn and spring. You can donate 100 Yen coin and take a fortune by dropping the stick and take an English fortune paper. It also has Archery Club. We can see students are training for archery. Recommend season - Spring (good to ride a bicycle with cool weather) , Autumn and Summer (Outdoor sport activities and scene exploration)
