This Shrine is very nice and worth visiting. It is more a complex of shrines that are decorated with lanterns and brass coverings. The complex is beautiful because there are purple plum trees blooming and really makes it fun to walk through. It is free to enter. It is on the route of the Sky Hop-on-Hop-off bus, which you can catch at the Kyoto Train station (front area). Check it out

This shrine is known among students and others who pray for being smarter and having a clearer mind. Its architecture is different from the other shrines we’ve been to in Kyoto, with lots of gold tone decors. the maple garden is nice, but the one in Eikando is better maintained.

A really beautiful shrine with immaculately clean, well kept facilities. It has a nice serene pace to it, and we were lucky that there was an umeshu tasting festival on the grounds when we went. I came here specifically to pray to the God of Achievement, for my studies and exams.

We went during the month flea market to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. It was amazing. So many vendors selling anything you could want from delicious smelling food, to antique kimonos, plates and cups to world war 2 items and many more. They only hold the flea market on the 25th of every month, it is a must see when in Kyoto at that time. The Shrine itself was extremely beautiful and offered so much history to learn about. I loved my time I spent here.

This shrine is famous for offering worshippers success in education, so there are a lot of students praying for success on their entrance exams. The grounds are beautiful. If you are visiting the area, there are a lot of nice restaurants and cafes nearby. It is well worth a visit.
