Beautiful temple grounds right along a river, the trip to see it is more than worth the trip. A waterfall, a small bridge, and some gorgeous old buildings make for a great spot to relax and take in the space.

Beautiful temple and full of nature. The wooden architecture is beyond perfection.

Arriving at the nearest bus stop, I couldn’t image of this temple. There is a very steep hill, so it is better to be careful if you have weak legs. But when you get there after this small hill, you'll be amazed by the view including quiet, indescribable whisper of the trees. Buses are very infrequent, so if you want to make the most of your time, it is advisable to call a taxi. It was about 1500 yen to Tajimi station.

Eihoji was established in 1313 and is a Zen Buddhist temple in Tajimi City of Gifu Prefecture. Associated with this temple is a school for Zen Buddhists monks. The beautiful and vast Japanese gardens and ponds with koi. Near parking lot there is a tourism association which also sell stuffs like oden during autumn season. Definitely recommended place.
