You come and need to see it for yourself. The partial snow cover really makes the field look like window XP background. Microsoft designers if you see this, may consider coming here in winter to take some for your next computer model.

What a relaxing place. I enjoyed a cup of coffee and stayed there for more than 2 hours. It is easy to travel from JR Hakata to JR Aso station and then get to this place by local bus. Driving is not a must.

One of the favorite place and spot that i relaxed for 60 mins. Walking down and straight to the hill is amazing. You can ride horse too for 1,500 yen per person. I will come back in Later Winter season to see fresh green and more water in the swamp / lake.

Beautiful natural landscape, expanding for miles in the Kumamoto countryside. Nice stroll around the fields in pleasant weather conditions (not so much in the rain). Horses roaming the pastures. The only downside is the carparking situation, where there is only paid one nearby.

Also know as 草千里(literally grass 1000miles). The lakes(reflections), the climbs and the volcano. The view is fantastic. We can also climb behind the carpark to the lookout point. From the top, we can see the low-lying clouds. You can expect horses to loiter around during Spring time. Beautiful landscape.
