Very cool and popular shrine in Mito. Very busy during New Years. Lots of parking.

Mito Hachimangu Shrine is located in Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture. From Mito Station, it takes about 25 minutes by bus plus walking.

Wonderful and beautiful shrine nested in a patch of woods. Hydrangea are very popular there during the peak season. You also have a very nice view over the river.

It's a wonderfully peaceful place, beautiful architecture and amazing trees. Especially during rainy season when the hydrangea is in full bloom. It's a very spiritual place, too.
