So beautiful when we were there cos most of the autumn foliages were still in bloom! Can’t say how it looks during other seasons but Defo beautiful and photo-worthy in Autumn Peaceful and beautiful garden for a nice walk. We didn’t stay there long but covered most of the key places. Beautiful small Japanese gardens, located within the Wakayama Castle grounds. Several winding and elevated paths. The immaculate trees and greenery contrasting against the thousand year old stone. Nice little tea house located within as well.

Near the site of Wakayama Castle is the picturesque Maple Tree Garden Park (Momijidani Teien Park), which just happens to be in starting its full bloom when I visited, so you can see a variety of changing colors. The reflecting light in the pond with the late morning sun peaking through the trees was really quite a sight to see. Although small, it was free!
