Eye opening and sad history from the past. War only brings suffering and tragedy for people.

After visiting the main museum building, make your way across the street through the underpass walkway to the Hypocenter monument, approximately 200 yards walk.

We visited today and had an amazing experience today with two beautiful Japanese ladies who read out (To us personally) actual accounts from a few of the survivors from that fateful day in August 1945. We were honoured to be included, It was a moving experience and I recommend you do it if asked. They also gifted us some paper cranes which made the experience so special…bless

The visit can be done in less than 30 minutes if you're in a hurry, but you can also spend a long time reading everything and thinking about what happened there. The memorial was very beautiful.

The memorial is topped with an abundance of water as it’s said on that morning many victims were begging for water after the bomb had fallen. It is also lit by about 70,000 fiber optic lights which is roughly the number of people who perished that morning. Just beside the atomic bomb museum and well worth a visit.
