Love the snow this time of the year, very fluffy. Snow boots recommended. Lots of dogs also getting in theor daily walks. Can't wait for the next season to see how tjis park transforms. Get off Nakajima Koen, exit 3 to land right in the middle of the park.

Came here in January 2024 and it was covered in deep snow, extremely beautiful. There are 2 subway stations nearby. There’s free snow-walking facilities available for rental as well. Bring a plastic sled and your kids can have hours of fun in the snow here!

The public park has a bit of everything from beautiful trees, ponds, creeks, museum, athletic center, observatory etc. We were fortunate to be there on November 7, during which fall foliage was getting peak, albeit late this year 2023. The park is full of vibrant red, orange and yellow colors. Ginkgo leaves are all yellow on tree branches as well as on ground like a carpet. Maple leaves around the pond are also turning orange and brightly red, mingled with green willows and pines. The park is not crowded, we can stroll around tranquilly. It is strongly recommended for visitors to Sapporo to add Nakajima park on the itinerary.

The timing for our visit was perfect and many beautiful trees. The small flying bugs were there in swarms though…it was hard to walk in some areas because of them.

We visited on October 10, 2023. It's probably a couple of weeks before peak autumn colours but still worth a visit. There is a lake with some ducks and it felt peaceful. A section called 日本庭園 (literally Japanese Garden) is particularly picturesque. Good for a stroll or just sitting around breathing in the fresh air and relaxing. Highly recommended.
