A mid-sized shrine in a nice garden area. It is generally pretty quiet and is nice to visit in different seasons as the gardens blossom and change over the year. One of the Tokyo 10 Jinja, so worthwhile visiting if you want a good example of what a shrine should be while avoiding the more overly touristy big shrines.

Indeed, this location fits the description of a tranquil shrine. We showed up at 8:30a.m. and saw a total of 2 people. Things you should know: I. QUALITY Nezu Shrine is known for its vast lines of Torii Gates. They were beautiful to view and walk through, to say the least. This entire property is an oasis and escape from the surrounding city. II. CAPACITY Nearly empty 8-8:30a.m.

Beautiful and quaint grounds, Nezu Shrine has a remarkable pond and raised pavilion that overlooks the compound. Nice mixtures of red and yellow foliage this time of the year. Autumn is in full bloom, giving the shrine grounds a lot more colour and character. Not crowded on weekday afternoons, the shrine is a peaceful respite from crowded tourist attractions. There are public restrooms available near the entrance.

One of my favourite places in Tokyo, just outside the more common tourist routes. In this local temple, you can quietly enjoy the spirituality of nature and the beautiful ambience of the red Torii gates. During spring, the garden of azaleas blossom in a wonderful sight.

I had seen the shrine on a YouTube video The person that did the video said it was a quieter spot to see the quintessential Tori gate experience. I was not disappointed it was not easy to get to it's not close to a major Metro line but there is an 8-minute walk one of the subways. The shrine is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood and makes a great getaway I would recommend visiting here.
