A strange addition to most tourist agendas but I would recommend it as a place to visit. Top quality the food hall in the basement is a fascinating insight into Japanese tastes. The statue of the Goddess of Sincerity is astounding! We ate in the restaurant at the top of the main building and I had a lovely traditional Japanese Kaiseki meal and my wife had the eel speciality dish.

Excellent high class department store. Service is excellent and it does not seem that the cost is higher than elsewhere. Worth getting there for the 10:00 opening to hear the welcoming speech by a member of staff before the doors are opened. As well as most of the international luxury brands there is also a lot of Japanese items and standard homewear. There is about half a floor dedicated to kimonos with beautiful cloth and stunning designs. Even if you cannot afford the kimonos, and most people can't, the displays are certainly worth a visit. Staff were helpful and even wrapped the gifts up for us.

Great selection of luxury brands and unique clothing items. Worth a walk though. The roof garden is I nice place to sit and eat any for you aquior on the lower floors. It very similar Harrods with less food and technology available. The fashion available is eclectic with floors dedicated to traditional garments.

The Mitsukoshi Main Store is an exceptionally large department store with a rich history. The statue at the entrance is not only impressive in size but also quite noisy, making it worth visiting this department store even just to see it. I highly recommend checking it out when you're near Tokyo Station.

Excellent upmarket department store. Amazing decoration, with a food hall that seems without end. Many items here are very high end, although there was quite a range at cheaper pricing also. The roof terrace provides a quiet place to sit and relax.
