Nishikawa Greenway Park in Okayama City is a park that has been developed as a greenway on both banks of the Nishikawa Canal, which flows north and south through the center of the city, and its tributary, the Edagawa Canal. The Nishikawa River has been in use since the Heian period, and the waterway was constructed at its current location in the Edo period about 400 years ago. It was excavated by Hideaki Kobayakawa, Tadao Ikeda, and others during the Keicho era, and was used as water for daily life by the common people until it became an agricultural canal during the Meiji era. Nishikawa Ryokudo Park began when a 2.4km section in the city center was developed as a "Water and Green Corridor" over a period of nine years from 1974 to 1982. . Nishikawa Ryokudo Park has three areas: Edagawa Ryokudo Park, Nishikawa Ryokudo Park (upstream), and Nishikawa Ryokudo Park.

Very scenic walk to take when visiting this place, highly recommend coming here at night time

Came for the Okayama Craft Beer Festival. Lots of interesting beers. Fun environment and nice playground for kids.
