Amazing views across Numaza port and city. A must see when visiting the area. Elevator to the top is only ¥100 for adults, ¥50 for children. The surrounding fish market area has lots to see and do; with many great shops and restaurants (the sashimi is really good). Highly recommended for a lovely day out.

VIEW-O Water Gate is a magnificent building. There is an entrance fee of 100 yen to enter the observation deck.

A functional water gate with observatory space, and a bridge connecting two sides of the harbour entrance. Entrance fee is inexpensive, and have access to 360° view with Mt. Fuji in sight

Numazu Port's View-O Flood Gate provides spectacular day and night views of Numazu City, Shizuoka, Mount Fuji and bodies of water that surround three of four directions. In the day, it is said that you can see Mount Fuji on a clear day. In the night, you are greeted by its luminous colours that light the observation deck and towers that support/move the flood gate, making it a sight in itself of the night. Unfortunately, I was only able to visit during the night and catch the views during that time. However, with the December night that it was, not being cold on the outside and being warm inside the observation deck, it made for a nice, quiet overlook of the city interior and a hint of Mount Fuji resting behind a partly-cloudy night. For 100円, you can get many nice photo opportunities up on the observation deck. Even at night, the lights-off interior and mainly-exterior lighting creates a relaxing... and, to some, romantic... ambience/aesthetic. It's a must-visit during all seasons. Visitors to Numazu should make it a point to stop here and go through both sides of the port's inlet to discover what each side has to offer.
