A very meaningful ancient city. You must visit this city!! I'm amazed that there are so many stories of Japanese history here. Here, this is a proud place!! An ancient city contains most of the history of Japan, and you can also see the customs and geographical features! It's worth visiting.

Please be ready for the long queue. It is best to have your destination within the castle planned before coming here as you might end up waiting for an hour just to get into the castle. Nonetheless, the surroundings are of spectacular view. I would recommend trying some of their alcohol drinks on the spots with some chewy.

This is a beautiful little castle that is the closest castle keep to Tokyo. While it’s small it is worth a visit! It is not of original style construction and has been rebuilt multiple times. The inside has a great deal of history however, most of it is in Japanese. The top floor allows you to an open air walk around the top of the castle with amazing views of the surrounding area. On the Castle grounds there is a Ninja Museum (I did not go this visit) that looks great for kids. There is also a Samurai Museum that is an additional 100yen to the regular ticket to see the armor and weapons displays. Overall highly recommend a visit to this castle, total time spent only about 2 hours!

By far, one of the best activity I did when in Japan... The castle is beautiful, the museum items are very well organized and kept... They put explanation for all important historical passages. There is a lot of effort from many people working there. Note: I was there in September 2017.

Nice excursion for half a day from Tokyo. The wind can be chilly so get some extra warm clothing during winters. Not a friendly place for someone with knee problems at least not the main keep. It only has stairs which one needs to climb. Buy the combination ticket which includes the Samurai museum as well.
