We didn't visit the museum. We just stop to enjoy one of the many open-air foot hot baths that was just in front of the museum. Water was very hot. Do be careful and not plunge your feet inside.

Informative but mainly in japanese(little English available). There was a collection of a student's lab experiments with onsen water, that was quite cool

I good place where you can see beautiful Sakura trees and flowers on the entrance. There is a free hot spring pool for your feet just cross the street, and for free, you can enjoy the feet hot spring there.

Small yet detailed “Onsen” (hot spring) museum in the heart of a famous Onsen town (Gero). Friendy staff with enough English ability to make you feel welcome, but technical information is limited to Japanese. Some stuffed animals could interest young children for a few minutes but other than that not really a place kids would feel entertained.

A friendly local staff given us a detail history and knowledge of onsen! His working attitude is very awesome!
