stayed for a night in Jan24. The service of staff was great and attentive, even their English may not be fluent, I was appreicated everyone of them were carrying a translator. We had sukiyaki dinner and was sooooooo impressed by the big dish of wagyu beef (I'm sure it's A5)! The portion was even more than we had in the popular Sukiyaki resturant. Private onsen was undoubely wonderful, esp. in such a chilly weather. Overall highly recommend to have a stay here when visiting Yufuin, would be great if you come by self-drive.

It was a bit far away from the station and we were late when we reached Yufu, so we had to walk for like 20 minutes to get to the hotel. The walk was a bit tough under the snow. If you arrive earlier, a shuttle bus from the hotel is available. The staff was very friendly and the room was amazing. The beds are in the loft and there is an outdoor onsen. I can say, the outdoor onsen is big compared to others. The staff introduced everything in the room to us. The service is of high quality. The surrounding environment of the hotel was quiet and nice. I really like this hotel!

This is probably one of the most overrated spring hotels in Japan. COCKROACHES ALERT! Then they gave u a can of spray that was meant to freeze and kill the cockroach. After emptying almost an entire can, the cockroach was finally dead. Yeah, you think so? After 5 minutes, the cockroack came round like nothing had happened. One of my worst nightmares in my life!!!!

Thank you for all the warm welcoming and service! Amazing view of Mt. Yufu, hot spring & room, nice Japanese A5 Wagyu Sukiyaki dinner! The out door hot spring in the yard of my room is ready when you arrived! What a treatment that you can just shower and relax. Thank you for all the hard works and all the staffs are so friendly, specially the “女将” and “maybe the owner” We really had a wonderful stay celebrating our anniversary! Thank you

My wife and I stayed one night for our wedding anniversary at the end of October 2022 and it was amazing! We had never stayed at a “ryokan” before and the room was much larger than I thought it would be. The outdoor hot spring with a mountain view was perfect. Dinner and breakfast were some of the best meals we’ve ever had. The staff was very friendly and they spoke very simple Japanese with us (we are from the US). I would love to go back some time. It was very memorable.
