An art museum with interesting exterior architecture. The downstairs light is interesting as well. For the exhibit in 2024 we needed to reserve tickets online in advance, but there was no shortage when we ordered on the same day that we visited.

Beautiful architecture and innovative exhibition of Raku Kichizaemon. It's a little far from Kyoto, but it's worth the visit. The buses stop right in front of the museum and there is a cafe inside the nuseum.

It's a beautiful piece of architecture that cleverly makes use of its interior to showcase some breathtaking art. Some areas can seem a little high brow, however for how cheap it is to visit they really do encourage people of all walks of life to visit. They are friendly towards children too, the AH! Exhibition was on during my visit and had many interactive pieces of art to help encourage a growing mind and it was one of the most fun experiences I've seen at a gallery. Overall this was a wonderful place and I'd encourage anyone and everyone to go.

Very well designed architecture which create a comfortable experience. The use of lightings are excellent too. The “ah” exhibition is very fun and suitable for people of all age.

Entrance fee is JPY1000 for adults, the museum mainly involves collections of artworks of Ikuo Hirayama, Sato Churyo and Kichizaemon Raku. It’s to bring us to understand the origins of Japanese artworks, and to a certain extent it’s actually a very good place to visit, very nice “floating” and contemporary building. I personally quite like the works from Sato Churyo, very lively sculptures!
