If you're seeing iwate castle grounds you need to see this temple and walk up the stairs to the large rock behind it

The shrine was the final stop on the day tour of Morioka. It is a typical Japanese shrine. There is a short path which leads to a pair of fox statues surrounding a shrine. This is a shrine where you ring the bells for good luck in addition to prayer. Lots of restaurants nearby if you are hungry!

The shrine is located right beside the park. One can simply park their vehicle at the basement carpark at the castle ruins and visit two tourists’ sites. It’s not a big shrine but when I was there, there were a number of locals who visited. Therefore I believed that this shrine should be one of the most revered shrine locally.

The pleasure of the shrine is a “fortune”, but the “fortune” here is a lot of originals and fun! I tried to buy an “umbrella fortune” for the first time. like a small toy! I love it! The contents of the fortune-telling are written in Japanese, but there is an application that automatically translates to the language of your own country when you take a picture, so if you use it, you will understand the contents. If you want to warn yourself, you can bring it home, or there is a place to hang a fork in front of it. I brought it home, though. let’s try it!

Located conveniently on the edge of the park, this shrine is a hot spot for food stalls come festival time, especially during Sansa Aug. 1-4. The character at the entrance changes outfits with seasons/events so it is fun to revisit. There is also an Olaf Daruma near the charms/omamori. There is a toilet inside as well, though it feels like trespassing to get to it.
