A large and impressive sculpture park close to Sapporo. We drove and parking was easy. If you want to experience it all, allow at least 3-4 hours. But with helpful maps and brief explanations provided you could also do a shorter more curated visit.

What a wonderful way to spend the day!! Engaging, timeless and interesting sculptures out in the open. The works of art and environment drew me in. I felt like a child entering a world of wonder. The fact that it’s out in nature between beautiful trees and forest made the visit all the more special. A great day out!

The Sapporo Art Park is home to the Sapporo Art Museum and Sculpture Park. It is free to enter and there are some outdoor sculptures to see in the grounds. There is paid onsite parking. There are lots of walking paths.

Fun for a 2 or 3 hour activity on a nice day, the Sapporo Art Park has a lot going on. The feature both traveling exhibits (The Making of Pixar was the outside exhibit when we visited), along with a sculpture garden. The park itself is free to enter (though parking is a flat ¥500), but the other exhibits and sculpture garden charge for admission. At the time of our visit, the sculpture garden was ¥700. Well worth a visit, particularly with kids!

Lots of fun and culture. The museum by itself is modern and the facilities are clean and well organized. Just next to the hotel there is the outdoor museum full of sculptures in the middle of a forest, it feels like a treasure hunt while you try to find all the attractions
