This is the first time I experienced blessings by a priestess as I prayed. Haha. And they have handwritten 御朱印 too. Very beautiful temple.

Wonderful shrine in central Hiroshima and with a very interesting history. Well worth visiting even if briefly. We attended a small festival here in late Oct 22 and were truly blessed by the experience and the spirit of the occasion.

Such an interesting shrine with a great history in Hiroshima dating back to when the white papers if the shrine worked as a kind of lighthouse to passing ships to avoid running into it - which gave the shrine it's name SHIRAKAMI for white paper & pure god

Beautiful Shinto shrine in Hiroshima. They had a quaint little festival going on at the time that was not all that crowded. That also had some Japanese performing troops on a stage that was quite nice.

A shrine where locals feel strong bonding, therefore please don't forget to pay respect. This shrine was destroyed by the atomic bomb.Though the shrine itself was damaged severely, stone lanterns survived and stands till this day. Passing by in the morning I noticed locals entering the shrine, praying, before heading to office, school etc.
