Taga Shrine i always visit when I come to Japan, its a nice calm place and well taken care of, just outside on the Village Street there are lots of small restaurant and other shops.

Great architecture, it's much smaller having been to Ise Shrine though it's related.

This is the historical and famous grand shrine. I heard Taga shrine is related to Ise shrine. I recommend both shrines.

A great architectural example of Shinto-Buddhism religious sincretism in Japan and worth spending a couple of hours to visit if you're on the shores of Lake Biwa, in Shiga Prefecture.

Highly photogenic shrine near Hikone which also has a nice shopping street at the entrance. It's quite photogenic at dusk plus there are no crowds then
