There was one large stall and one medium-sized stall in a spacious space. It was nice to be able to see it from the second floor. The storehouse was closed to the public due to damage from the Noto earthquake.

It stands quietly and blends into the quaint townscape. Mikurumayama and related exhibits are displayed in a space that is deeper and wider than it looks from the front. I visited first thing in the morning, but it was reserved (lol). It's such a wonderful place that I wanted more people to know about it. There are said to be seven Mikurumayama floats at the Mikurumayama Festival, a UNESCO cultural heritage site. The decoration on the top called the spear holder is also a butterfly (not Mothra), which is very impressive. There is a hayashi master corner where you can play in the same way as a taiko drum master, a karakuri doll display, a video display where you can change the type of Mikurumayama wheels by detecting people's movements, and a movie theater where you can watch a 15-minute festival introduction video. Everyone from children to adults can enjoy the special theater. If you take your time, you can enjoy it for 2 hours. There is also an actual display of one Mikurumayama car, and it is said that it will be replaced every four months. This is a spot you should definitely visit when you go to Takaoka. I recommend it.

I visited you on the Friday after Golden Week. There are surprisingly few tourists. I thought 360 yen was a good deal using JAF discount. You can also have a 15 minute explanation if you wish. The facilities are expensive and easy to see and understand. It made me realize what a difficult festival it was.

A local gallery for displaying objects related to the Matsuri in the village which is a UNESCO world heritage. The staff were really kind, they really helped me on many things (e.g. buying tickets, some basic information on the place). The gallery was really beautiful with the chariots gathered in a hall with little light. One thing that was depressing is the fact that most of the information was in Japanese.
