It is a commemorative museum with a tasteful atmosphere that will make you feel as if you have traveled back in time, with a building that has a Taisho-roman feel to it that is based on the works of Yumeji Takehisa. Kurofuneya is famous for its paintings of beautiful women, but you can also find fresh works that are still relevant today as design designers. Tsubaki's simplified version feels like I've seen or heard it somewhere before. Maybe it's the one used on the cover of Shiseido's Hanatsubaki?

I was so happy that I was finally able to go. I've always been a fan of retro things, but everything from the building to the rooms and the furniture was wonderful. I feel like I've traveled back in time. When you play a music box, the tones spread beyond your imagination. The piano performance was also wonderful. The annex building, Gizanrou, is also a must-see. Everyone working in the building was very kind and provided detailed explanations. I would like to visit again.

Kurofunekan The interior of the building, which has a Western-style exterior, is a relaxing space that combines Japanese and Western elements, and is so luxurious that you wouldn't expect it to be a private art museum. There are many decorations and antique furniture made in the Taisho period, giving you a feel of the atmosphere of the time when Yumeji lived.

The autumn leaves in the garden were beautiful. The interior, furniture, lighting, and music box make you feel like you've traveled back in time from the Taisho era to the early Showa era. The works are retro and good.

If you are a fan of Yumeji, this should be a place you should visit at least once. 1600 yen gets you a pass to the main building featuring collections of Yumeji as well as a live music box demo and some artifacts he himself or people in the era used to use. Located in a very tranquil part of the town. It may be challenging if you don't know the language.
