After reading the reviews, I went there first thing in the morning at 9am. At the main hall, you will hear an explanation from the monk about the origin of the temple, etc., and then follow the directions. He is a very friendly monk. The grounds are vast, and it is estimated that it is about a 200m walk along the cedar trees from the entrance to the main hall. There are many valuable cultural properties such as the main hall and Hobutsuden, which I was very grateful to see. Also, the moss in the garden is beautiful, and I am humbled by the effort it takes to maintain it. thanks I went to the graveyard and thought about the ancient times. I visited on November 15th (Wednesday) during heavy rain. From Tojinbo, go down the slope of Chuo-dori, cross the Echizen Railway Mikuni Ashihara Line railroad crossing, turn left at the next four-corner, and there is a free parking lot at the end of the railroad crossing. In front of the admission reception (admission fee: 500 yen) is Jizo-do Hall, and next to it is a statue of Kobo Daishi. As you go up the approach path covered with trees, you will see the bell tower gate. From the front left of the courtyard as you enter the gate, you will see the shrine, the main hall, and Kannon-do, the rock garden on the right, and the Seitendo-do, Kaisan-do, mausoleum, and tombs at a higher place in the back. After listening to the explanation in the main hall, you can also view the scenic garden in the back. On the way back from the left side of the courtyard is the Treasure Hall, which houses national treasures, important cultural properties, Buddhist statues designated as cultural properties by the prefecture, and ancient documents. You can also view the treasure hall.

After paying the entrance fee, you will be guided to the main shrine and the chief priest will give you an explanation. After that, you are free to visit the shrine as you like. The principal image is Yakushi Nyorai, the secret Buddha Nyoirin Kannon (which will be unveiled in a few years), and many other Buddhas. You can also see the well-maintained gardens, buildings designated as important cultural properties, and the treasure house. Although the treasure hall is small, there are national treasures such as the Womb Realm Kongokai Mandala, the Hanging Scroll of the Eight Great Dragon Kings, the Sixteen Arhats, and other interesting items.
