Tamura Jinja is a Shinto shrine in the Ichinomiya neighborhood of the city of Takamatsu in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. It is the ichinomiya of former Sanuki Province. The main festivals of the shrine are held annually on May 8 and October 8.

This temple is an absolute gem !! Among all of those I visited in Japan, it's one of my favourites. So many fun things to see and do ! There are statues according to your zodiac sign that you shall turn three times after putting a coin into a little box. And a gorgeous dragon and pond. An old couple I met randomly taught me how to do everything. So kind I was soooo touched ! I went there on the first of January 2024, I feel this year is going to be so blessed!! 誠にありがとうございましたー✨💕☺️

Historically important. Great to visit during the New Years holiday. Expect some crowds though, but sometimes that’s the best part.

One of my favorite shrines. It's so rich of so many different things, details, statues, hidden mini-shrines within the shrine, etc.
