If you are wearing a kimono, we recommend wearing a cover over your tabi socks. My family went there wearing kimonos, but the soles of their tabi socks were so dirty that it was unbelievable. Even with bleach, it didn't come off in the washing machine twice. I don't think they wipe down the hallways, tatami mats, etc. It was a tea ceremony, so when I sat up straight, the dirty soles of my feet were completely visible. Even if everyone who came was like that, I wouldn't be so embarrassed. And I hope everyone has good clothes from Solenari... I'd say I'm disappointed or appalled... I'm really tired of thinking that my socks are so dirty and I wonder if I can wash them by hand... I've only worn the kimono once, but if my tabi is that bad, I'll have to take it to the wash right away...sigh. The photo is after washing twice.

Close to Honkawagoe Station or Kawagoe City Station. There is no parking lot, but there are probably hourly rentals nearby. It's located along the road, so it's best to check it out before going. Unfortunately, on the day I went, the gate was closed and I couldn't get in, probably because it was reserved. There was no signage to that effect, so all I had to do was look at the exterior.

[Comfort level for one person] 100% 5 minutes walk from Kawagoe City Station. You can rent out the ``annex'' of the mansion of a lumber merchant in Kawagoe, along with a 200 tsubo Japanese garden. First, we checked in at a Western-style room in the main building while enjoying matcha tea and Japanese sweets. The historic appearance of the main building and the retro Western-style atmosphere are also wonderful. The entrance to the annex is at the back of the main building, and there are two rooms on the first floor and one room on the second floor. It was the mansion of a lumber merchant, and the pillars and transoms were worth seeing. A beautifully maintained Japanese garden. There are Karesansui, Suikinkutsu, and small shrines, so I enjoyed a leisurely stroll by myself. The water area has been beautifully renovated. Amenities such as lotion are also available. The toilets are also clean. The only bath available is an open-air bath. Although it is not a hot spring, I was always able to take a bath at a comfortable temperature. The showers and changing rooms are outside, but there is a gas stove to keep you warm. The shampoo was KNOLL and the face wash was Aesop. Since we were basically staying without meals, for dinner we took a walk through the warehouse-style townscape, which is about a 15-minute walk from the inn, and ate at a restaurant there. (Catering is available for 2 or more people) In addition, we were kindly provided with breakfast by the landlady. Delicious homemade side dishes and earthenware pot rice. We had a leisurely breakfast while looking out at the garden. Renting a whole building is difficult for one person, but even one person is happy to accept this option. The landlady's thoughtfulness is wonderful, and it's the best house to rent even for a single person 😊

It is very good for leisure time. You can take a train from ikebukuro and it's only take 40 mins.
