It is said to have been built on land reclaimed from the sea as a retirement residence for the Date feudal lord of Uwajima. It is popular for its wisteria trellis and irises. Although it is a small garden, it is a very beautiful place where you can feel a sense of wabi-sabi.

Visited on 2024/1/10. It's about a 10 minute walk from Uwajima Castle's Asaridachi Gate. The garden was quiet and calm, and since it was a weekday afternoon, there was no one else around but me, so I was able to take a leisurely stroll around the pond. We also found two smoking areas. Suddenly I encountered Sabineko-chan near the tea room! I guess I wasn't used to people, so I went straight into the tea room. I wonder if it's settled in?

This Tenshaen Garden is designed so that you can enjoy the garden while walking around the pond. On the day I visited, the leaves were still a little early in the season for autumn leaves, and the flowers were not in bloom, but since it was a weekday, there were almost no people around, so I was able to take a quiet and leisurely stroll. You can also feed carp for 50 yen per bag. Just by standing next to the pond, a lot of carp will gather in no time. When I sprinkled the food, about 10 pigeons flew in to partake in the food. When I was feeding it for a while, it suddenly slammed into my hand! There was a shock and the bait disappeared. To my surprise, the dragonfly took the whole bag with me. This surprised! It's amazing that he was aiming for a small bag of carp food from above, about 10 cm long, but it's also amazing that he took the bag out of his grasp so quickly that I didn't even know what happened. Even though I was a dragonfly, I felt like I had been pinched by a fox. I would like to visit again during the wisteria and irises season. 2023.10.26

We bought 4 sets of admission ticket for both 南樂園and天郝園 （共用通用券） from 南樂園 costed ¥2200 on 9Dec19, but when we arrived to Tenshaen found it was closed. How can I get refund.
