I went there on August 12, 2020. When I first entered the castle tower after purchasing an electronic ticket, the receptionist advised me that the SAMURAI building was about to close, so I could get there in time. It was a great memory to see the armor, swords, and paintings of past castle lords.

Tokiwagimon SAMURAI building. It is located very close to Odawara Castle, and tickets are sold as a set with Odawara Castle. It costs 200 yen normally, and if you get the set, it's an extra 100 yen on top of the Odawara Castle ticket. There is a shop on the first floor. You can also take a cosplay photo shoot wearing armor. It looks like you can choose a ninja, a warrior, or a princess and go outside to take a photo. 500 yen. It seemed to be popular and the registration deadline had already passed on the day I went. On the second floor, there are exhibits of armor, swords, and helmets. There aren't many exhibits, so you can finish viewing them within a few minutes. There was a 10 minute video showing in the back, and it was really cool. It's the samurai's wabi-sabi. The building itself takes about 20 minutes. We recommend pairing it with Odawara Castle so you can see it quickly.

You can visit it if you pay extra 100yen to the admission to Odawara Castle. Not too much to see here, the video presentation is quite interesting. Again, for less than a dollar is fine to visit this building too.

To pay an extra 100 yen to get in was understandable as there was really not much to see. I suggest skipping unless you’re really in to Samurai stuff.

Small, but the video was very nice and the pieces of armor were great to see.
