Beautiful shrine under cave.Good view of pacific ocean. There is parking only for cars and you need walk some distance from parking lot to the shrine. We went in summer and the weather was nice. The coastal road to the shrine is very scenic.

The shrine in Nichinan is exceptionally beautiful, with the vibrant red colors contrasting against the blue sky, creating a perfect setting. The well-crafted walking path adds to the charm, making it an ideal place to enjoy a leisurely day.

The highlight of my trip to Nichinan Beach. Even on my second visit in 10 years, I was still deeply impressed. This time, I again bought a good luck stone for 200 yen and threw it at the turtle rock on the sea, but this time I was not successful. The shrine built under the rock has a very unique charm. A must visit place. If you follow the directions to the large parking lot on Route 220, you will see a large sign guiding the entrance to the parking lot. There are a lot of stairs to walk from here to the shrine, and it is quite a distance. When approaching from the Aoshima side, pass the parking lot sign and take the small side road toward the beach. You will pass through the beach village and arrive at a small parking lot right in front of the shrine. Buses cannot park here; only passenger cars can park here.

Make sure you park at the closer car park. We parked at the further car park and it is less than a 10 minute walk, but at least there are lots of friendly stray cats to greet you. Lovely shrine and scenery, well worth the journey

A very interesting sanctuary to visit, built along the coastal cliff, especially the main hall which is located in a cave. Beautiful scenery when the weather is good. Not very accessible by public transport, so don't make a special trip here if you are travelling by public transport.
