You can enjoy the picturesque sight of trains crossing Uji Bridge, with the crystal-clear water below. There's even a chance to spot white herons!

Within walking distance from the Uji station, the Uji bridge is one of the oldest bridge, believed to be originally constructed >1300 years ago. It had been destroyed and rebuilt, and honestly ..hard to tell its historical significance just by looking at it. However the surrounding area is serene and tranquil. It gives a good preview of what Uji has to offer..

To be honest, after seeing the Kansai Area, I began to miss Kyoto and Uji more than other regions; the nature, landscape, and mellow vibes of Kyoto and Uji really hit me hard. 1. The bridge is truly remarkable in terms of aesthetics and magnificence. 2. Taking a walk about the neighbourhood early in the morning or late in the evening provides you a sense of calm, chill, and enjoyment. 3. Uji Line and Nara Line can reach this location. KANSAI THRU PASS to visit this place as a pit stop was quite convenient for me. 3. You may buy matcha items here, which has a wide range of options.

Do prepare umbrella if during summer. You can walk on the bridge for splendid view. Make sure you go down the bridge for photos and wash your feet for cooling as well.
