Staff is polite and the house is objectively interesting both for domestic tourists and foreigners curious to see a European style XIX century house in the middle of Japan. But the price is quite notable compared to how much you actually get to see, and the souvenir shop doesn't accept credit cards below ¥1000. Also there's only one toilet (the whole area has very few public toilets due to its eccentricity and high altitude) and it's incredibly small and dense (but I still appreciate that it was there in the first place). You might want to ask yourself how badly you want to visit this place, especially if it entails a detour of some sort

As mentioned by other reviewers the price ~7 euros is too steep for what's offered. If you have the chance try the Italian embassy in Nikko ("close" to Tokyo) instead. The building hear is too renovated in my opinion and any antique items are placed haphazardly creating a sense of detachment from the time period that the house aims to portray.

One of the best place to visit in Kitano-Ijinkan, I think. Here, you can also take picture with the wild boar statue which they believes could bring you the best luck. Also, here you can observe the scenery of Kobe city from the third floor. If you want, you can observe other buildings as it is a cafe, I think. I enter this place for free using the happy memory pass.

Interesting place to visit on a rainy day. Kitano is such a special place in Kobe, feels just like walking trough Europe! (also: touch the statues nose for good fortune)

It's more expensive than other places (1050 yen), but it's got a lot to see and great quality. Nice house and art gallery, plus the sundaes in the shop were delicious. Get the matcha one for sure!
