I came here after visiting the shrine. No photography allowed inside There are not many exhibitions I was able to look around in about 10 minutes.

Lovely museum before entering the larger Usa Jingu grounds. ¥300 to see a number of beautifully maintained religious and cultural artifacts, with some videos on religious ceremonies and festivals. No English guide books or signs, 100% in Japanese

300 yen. Please note that the museum is open from 9:00 to 16:00 and closes early in the evening. One of Oita Prefecture's four national treasures, ``Kujaku Monkei'' is on display. Please come and see us locally. Other treasures unique to Usa Jingu, such as mikoshi, are also on display. If you are interested, please come and see the history of Usa Jingu.

I stopped by for the first time This time, I stopped by because I was told that I could see wooden guardian dogs. The guardian dog had a lovely face. No photography allowed inside When I gave food to the turtle and carp in the pond outside, I felt relieved to see that the turtle was about to be eaten by the carp.

The one and only American made shrine! Just kidding. Don't be fooled by the name USA, this spot is 100% Japanese history. A little hard to get here, but well worth it. I came for the shrine, but stayed for the beautiful gardens around it.
