Local modern art museum, featuring two galleries, one permanent exhibition and one rotating. Featuring mostly Japanese artists, with some global pieces too. Some interesting works. Hashimoto Tomonari currently exhibiting (July to September 2023).

The outstanding architecture of building reminds the traditional Japanese castles and temples. The meeting with Rothko’s painting took my breathe away.

A modern, clean and spacious building. A limited collection of Japanese art. The National Art Centre in Tokyo contains a larger range of antique and modern Japanese art. The service and food in the Café on the first floor is excellent.
