Best sake I have ever tasted. We couldn't help but buy a couple of bottles, even though we don't have any space to carry them back home. Guess we have no choice but to finish them in a week ╮( ╯_╰)╭ . They provide free tastings, and there's no pressure to buy. Most of the tourists that drop by seem to be from Japan, and they look like they came to this town just to buy sake from here.

An absolutely fantastic Sake brewery. I couldn't speak more highly of them. Lovely people. And the sake? What great tasting sake it is. Some of the best in Japan. They are also a jolly lot. Go there when they have their matsuri. Street food, live entertainment from well known Japanese comedians. Great!

Watanabe is the best sake brewery I know! It’s located in the beautiful scenery of Hida. It’s a small town with a lot of nature around it. The sake from Watanabe comes in a wide range. From standard well balanced to a perfect Daiginjo they have it all! You can taste the rice in the sake. All of the worker are super friendly and will help you with all your questions. It’s a must to see this brewery if you like sake. They have a lovely tasting room where you can try all their products.
