Everything Nice 3 months ago
This place is definitely not just for kids! Even adults can enjoy, I had fun learning about electricity. A Staff (i couldn’t get his name), probably a professor, was so kind to explain all what’s the exhibit’s all about! I am really thankful for his help, I hope to see him again if I get a chance to ho back there! Since my Japanese Skill isn’t good, it was a bit difficult to understand everything but everything is so interactive, we can learn by trying them out. The best part is it’s totally free! Coming here made me want to learn more, study more! Overall it was a best Science Museum I have been to!

This is a nice place for both adults and kids and it has free admission. My wife and I visited this place while we were waiting for bus and had a lot of fun. The staff did not know English but they still tried their best to help us.

AMAZING AND FREE ADMISSION (pay for parking only) Kind of stumbled on this place via a google maps search of the area as we were looking for something kid-friendly to do. We were not disappointed. We got here early, around 11 am and there weren't that many people. We were given numbers as they limit the number of people in the facility due to COVID. There are hand sanitizer stations everywhere, and popular exhibits are frequently wiped down or there is a staff on hand to assure that sanitizer is used and touched items are further disinfected. The museum is located in the Yamagata Chamber of Commerce building and there is parking inside of the building. We were there for about 2 hours and spent about 500 yen in parking fees. You access the museum from the 4th floor of the building, right by the elevators. It was a little tricky to figure out where we were supposed to enter. The kids had a blast, learned something about science, which is what we were able to interpret to them since everything is written in Japanese. Highlight for them was the drawing table on the bottom floor where an attendant would scan your image and it would appear as a sea creature on the screen. Highly Recommended!! :)
