This is one of the largest long-nosed red tengu goblin faces in Japan. It is displayed in an open building on the Yayoi covered shopping road in downtown Beppu.

やよい天狗

Location of the statue of the Heven Dog. It is a huge statue of dog face with very long nose.

It is not as merry as how it was. The pandemic has effected most of the tourist spots here. Right now, you can come here and take a look at the big Tengu face. However, it is kinda empty if you do not come in the right time where some local events are held.

Massive tengu. That’s all you can say really! You can’t miss it if walking past.

Situated at the corner of a lane within the arcade, it is worth passing by and taking a short break if you are in the vicinity.
