I was finally able to visit Youmeiji Temple, which is featured in Hiroyuki Itsuki's ``Hyaku-Temple Pilgrimage.'' There were many things to see, such as the thatched main hall, the moss-covered approach, and the beautiful garden. Inside the main hall and in the temple treasure building at the back, there are many treasures, especially a Luzon vase brought over by the red seal ship trade during the Hideyoshi era, and a Dainichi Nyorai statue that was presented to Emperor Godaigo in Oki. Statues, potters from Nagahama Hamada, statues of Shinnō by Iwasaku Nagami, etc. I was overwhelmed. I was told that the chief priest has not been able to stay in recent years, and members of the temple have been stationed at the reception desk in shifts. When I asked him, "Where is the Osmanthus tree," which was mentioned in the 100 Temple Pilgrimage, he pointed to the large tree in front of the main hall and told me. It was a large tree, about the same height as the main hall. I would like to visit again when this tree blooms.

It is a paid facility for 300 yen, but it is a cheap price for those who are interested. As it is the family temple of successive feudal lords, it is of a splendid scale. I also learned for the first time that the pronunciation is Youmage. The main hall with its all-thatched roof is amazing, but it's also amazing that the memorial tablets are kept securely in the storehouse.

It had an old-fashioned feel. However, the temple here is distinctive for its thatched roof. The thatched roof is an impressive image. I went to see the inside, and it was quite interesting and I enjoyed it. There was also a garden in the back, which was very beautiful. Eimyoji is a Soto sect. In 1420, Yoshimi Yorihiro, the lord of Sanbonmatsu Castle, Sanbonmatsu Castle is Tsuwano Castle. This temple was founded by Yoshimi Yorihiro as a founder of the mountain, and is the family temple of the three clans, Yoshimi, Sakazaki, and Kamei, who ruled Tsuwano. The main hall was rebuilt in 1779 as a prefectural cultural property, and the Kuri and bell tower, both prefectural cultural properties, were rebuilt in 1859 and Ansei 6. The 16 Arhat statues painted on silk are a prefectural cultural property, and the Luzon vases and other items that remind us of the red seal ship trade conducted by Mr. Korenori Kamei are preserved. In addition to the grave of Mori Ogai, which is engraved with (Taro Forest Tomb), there is also the grave of Sakazaki Dewa no kami Naomori. Naomori became the lord of the Tsuwano domain due to his achievements in the Battle of Sekigahara. During the Osaka Summer Campaign in 1615, he played an active role in rescuing Tokuyama Ieyasu's grandson Senhime from Osaka Castle, which was on the verge of falling.

Very old temple with a museum at the back, as well as a lovely garden. Very peaceful place to calm oneself and bring peace to himself. Good place to mediate and self reflect. Can learn the history of the place as well.

An old temple that is very moving, with some painted panels and a lovely garden at the back. Definitely worth a visit.
