Who are we?

We are a travel platform based in Tokyo, focused on diversifying tourism options in Japan. By giving opportunities for guides and travelers to create their own itineraries, we hope to not only promote less visited destinations, but also create more options for travelers within the Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka area. In addition, by directly connecting travelers and guides, we hope to create opportunities for all guides who want to show the beauty of Japan to foreign travelers.

Japan boasts beautiful nature and numerous historical destinations throughout the country. You can visit the still-preserved Western architecture in port cities like Hakodate, Nagasaki, the samurai route in Nakasendo, Japan's most sacred Shinto shrine in Mie, sacred mountains like the Kii Mountains in Wakayama, Gassho-zukuri villages in Ainokura, the cinematic Ginzan Onsen in Yamagata, to name just a few.

Non-licensed guides are also allowed to guide in Japan. At dekitabi, we want to open our platform to anyone who wants to welcome foreigners and teach them a bit of their local history and culture.
