This is essentially a children's museum. I visited for the upper floor but due to a language issue the upper floor is closed. I wish the staff had told me simply it was closed, instead they gave a confusing explanation about renewal and a brochure with confusing English on renewal. A simple 'this floor is closed' would have been much simpler.

It was a really quiet museum although we went in after a school trip so we were lucky. The park around the museum is really beautiful as well and the access with train was easier than the bus from Sendai station

Very good small museum. We’ve been to many of Japans science and natural history museums and this one has the best English signage. Fun interactive experiments for all school ages and well laid out floors. A little bit of everything. You can tell the staff really care about making it interesting for adults as well. Loads of bench’s to sit and watch your kids explore. Loads of light and green from the giant park next door.

One of the good place to visit with kids and family.. It's a very detailed science museum.. May be it's underrated ..you can see physics, chemistry& other experiments.. Periodic tables & explanation, Tesla coil & other things are great... Nice experience You can see mammoth statue here ...really gorgeous.. Also skeletons of them.

A science museum? With reviews stating it was great for kids? I was reluctant, but my friend convinced me and suggested that because of that, there will be a lot more hands-on activities for kiddos. Sure enough, there were dozens of surprisingly fun and informative displays available, much of which also had signage in English! Even rushing through it a bit, we spent a solid 2 hours there poking around the exhibits. If you want to have some fun learning basic science in an easy way, I highly recommend coming here, kids and adults alike!
